Yu Wenxian, male, born in 1964, CPC member. Endowed Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a Changjiang Scholar awarded by the Ministry of Education, a member of the 7th and 8th Information and Communication Engineering Degree Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council, President of Shanghai Beidou Research Institute, a Leading Talent of Shanghai and an Outstanding Academic Leader of Shanghai.

He has long been engaged in cutting-edge technology-based innovative research and industrial application promotion in the fields of radar target recognition, remote sensing information processing, integrated navigation and positioning technologies, etc., and has won several awards thanks to his contribution to promoting the research and development of key technologies and the development and industrialization of major equipment, including 5 Second Prizes of the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, 6 First Prizes of Scientific and Technological Progress Award at ministerial level, and 1 Special Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Shanghai Municipality. He has co-authored 5 monographs and published more than 200 academic papers, and has trained over 100 Ph.D. and master's graduate students.

Mr. Yu is the Chief Scientist of Shanghai Beidou Navigation Generic Technology R&D and Achievement Transformation Functional Platform and the Chairman of Shanghai Satellite Navigation and Positioning Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and Shanghai High-tech Industry Finance & Innovation Service Strategic Alliance. In addition, he has also established China Beidou Industrial Technology Innovation West Hongqiao Base and Shanghai Beidou Research Institute, aiming to create a Beidou West Hongqiao mode for the cultivation and development of strategic hi-tech industries. Beidou West Hongqiao Base has an annual output growth rate of nearly 50%, which has incubated one enterprise listed at Growth Enterprise Board and recorded an annual output value of nearly RMB 10 billion in 2021. It has promoted and led the technological progress of Beidou navigation industry in China, laying a foundation for Shanghai to build itself as a technology and innovation center with global influence for high-precision navigation and location services.
