The Enrollment Guide for Postgraduate Program of Master of Technology Transfer was officially released by SJTU recently. The first cohort of students of Master of Technology Transfer are scheduled to be enrolled in September 2022, and Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM) will be responsible for student enrollment and training, aiming to develop a group of high-level talents specialized in technology transfer based on the needs of the country and industries to facilitate the commercial application of scientific research achievements. Once released, the program was reported by multiple mainstream media such as CCTV, People's Daily Online, Xinhua Net, JFDaily, Guang Ming Daily and The Paper.

Lin Zhongqin, President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) said, "Universities should closely follow the national and societal needs, so Shanghai Jiao Tong University will take the initiative in serving the major comprehensive strategies of both the country and Shanghai, and actively reinforce the innovation in training talents and serving the nation." In terms of training methods, the "double mentor" system is applied to the program, which means each student will have two mentors, a school mentor and a corporate mentor. In addition to a more compatible system of knowledge for students, mentors are also required to translate their latest practices in technology and business into classroom contents, which can make the current curriculum system of the school more flexible.

The Master of Technology Transfer program emphasizes the cultivation of practical ability. Therefore, besides the course study, students can also build their practical ability in technology transfer and the application of research findings in science and technology through practice projects. After years of continuous accumulation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University boasts considerable academic and professional faculty resources with mature and advanced teaching systems and methodologies, all of which can be applied in the cultivation of postgraduates of technology transfer.

The Master of Technology Transfer program sets up two concentrations: strategic technology planning, and science and technology innovation financing, mainly for key industries of national development, such as integrated circuit, biomedcine, artificial intelligence, electronic information, life and healthcare, automobile, high-end equipment, advanced materials, etc., so as to fill the gap of talent shortage in technology transfer. The enrollment of the first batch of Master of Technology Transfer has started, and with two years of part-time study, students will be granted a diploma for Master's postgraduate and a certficiate for Master's degree by Shanghai Jiao Tong University upon graduation.
